A guide, of sorts.
I resist the use of social media as much as possible. Even though I exist quietly on a few platforms, I don't really use any of them with much conviction or consistency. I do like the idea of having my own space to share and reflect though. And I have never really outgrown my fondness for Web 1.0.
To be clear, I have no illusions about creating a following here. I'm not doing this for anyone other than myself. It's like when you were a kid and made something out of lego. The act of creation itself is fun and you might show it to someone else if you think they'd like it but you equally might also tear it down and build something different.
Most of what I'm writing here is emerging thought. It's more like a journal than a series of blog posts. It's me interacting with things I'm reading or letting my brain just take an idea in an expected direction. I'm also trying to get better at bringing a bit more obscure interest and personality into this.
You might wonder why I use dates instead of titles. Because it's loose and simple and I don't have to think about it. Check out the essays section for more evergreen stuff.
A couple things you might also be interested in: I keep a list here of my favourite problems. These are the things I like to think about and a lot of what I read and reflect on is related to these. I also share my toolkit if you're into that sort of thing.
